This store has been established since 2015 at pottery footpath in Tokoname . The creator and the users can exchange ideas there . Since the store is directly managed by us , we can update the latest works as soon as possible . Here, you can see the demonstrations of how the works are made by electric wheel . Many costumers are satisfied enough to be back again for the next their trip in Japan . Feel free to visit us .
古道具をリメイクして日曜大工の日々

元々は土管工場だった場所をDIYで改装しました。窯道具や古材を利用して自分の作品と調和する空間をイメージしました。
昔の一菁陶園の工場は中庭が休憩場所だったので、中庭をイメージして、ギャラリー中央にある水槽のテーブルを配置してあります。
屋内にいながら外に居るかのような空間作りを目指しました。

Isseitouen store
A path of a landscape with old chimnies and a street that was made by kiln tools
I made my works very light and handy.
You can enter the store it with your pet if you hold it by your hand.
There are several chimneys nearby and many tourist visit every year to sketch the landscape of this kiln and chimneys. The round shapes ceramics and bedding in the path along the gallery are tools for firing clay pipes. There are a few passengers on the Main Street so you can enjoy taking photos of the scenery and immerse yourself in it.

Potter’s wheel demonstrations and wood firing.
I sometimes show how to make my works by electric wheel at my store . There is a coal kiln on the back (east side) of the store which was used for firing clay pipes and has been well preserved enough , so it is still available to use even today. I and other potters assemble once a year for firing it by wood . （undecided for the next time yet ） In 2017, I fired a kiln with students from Nagoya University of Arts and international students from Switzerland. The chimney of this kiln is slightly shorter than other chimneys. The upper chimney collapsed during the Isewan typhoon. The chimney has a long history with the huge natural disaster .

紫色の器は、淡白な色目の食材とも相性が良く、また紅茶の色がいっそう鮮やかに引き立つ器でもあります。「鈞窯」という名前の釉薬で、一般的に赤や紫色は陶器で発色させるのが難しいとされています。当店の作品は、祖父の代からの調合で発色させています

About Tokoname
ネコづくし、急須三昧の旅
Tokoname is one of the six oldest pottery towns in Japan and among them , only Tokoname faces to the sea , and people used this to take advantage of sending their products by shipping to all over Japan in the mid century . People used to make large jars to stock up water in ancient times . They were proficient and skilled at making big pieces . Also clay pipes and liquor bottles were made with this technique in modern times In those times , we started to use the clay at the bottom of the rice field which was very smooth and suitable for the taste and atmosphere of tea ceremony. By this time , the technique of how to make teapots was introduced into Tokoname , so people started to make teapots and the teapots are now one of representative products in Tokoname . Also happy cat dolls are popular products in my city There are many places decorated by the ceramic cat dolls and also you can encounter the real cats at tiny paths . Tokoname has become popular for tourists since the international airport was built in 2005.
